COVID-19 Response
After a thorough review of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and considering the distress calls that we received, CMF Advisory Committee took a resolution that a CMF COVID-19 Task Force be formed to look into this matter. The team comprises key Executive Members and Zonal Coordinators who are tasked to monitor, review and assess the impact on an hourly basis. The team is then divided into Master Control Room, Verifiers, Data Management, IT Support and Project Leaders. CMF Leadership also resolved to raise an internal fund to support anyone who is in real dire straits.

Any citizen of India from the eight North Eastern states who is currently residing and stranded in a city/town in Tamil Nadu and is in distress.

1. Is the ration provided by CMF?
Answer: No, this is distributed by the Tamil Nadu government approved NGOs and Chennai Corporation.

2. What type of ration will be provided?
Answer: We are providing dry ration which includes rice, dal, spices, sugar, tea, salt and other day to day necessary items.

3. Will CMF help to submit an application form to Tengbang?
Answer: CMF can help in submitting the application. However, CMF cannot assure its approval.

4. Does CMF provide any monetary support to those who are in dire straits?

5. Does CMF have its own shelter?
Answer: Currently, we do not have our own shelter. Tamil Nadu government approved shelters are available.

6. Will CMF help get me a new job?
Answer: We do not provide any job, as CMF has no employment services.
Tips to Fight COVID-19

We should wash our hands regularly.

We should practice social distancing.

We should not venture out as you might be questioned by the police.

We should wear a mask when we go out to buy essential supplies and also avoid touching our mouth, nose or eyes. Once we are back home, please change your clothes and take a bath immediately.

We should stay calm at all times and do not spread rumors.

We should call Tamil Nadu helpline in case of an emergency.

Way Forward

CMF will continue to reach out to those families and individuals who are in distress and continue to monitor the safety of all Manipuris. We will also engage with the relevant stakeholders to review any key decision that impacts our migrant workers directly. CMF also plans to come up with a long-term support plan.

Please note that CMF COVID-19 Task Force will be fully dissolved once the lockdown is removed.
